As a member of the Revenue Management team, you will contribute directly to company revenue which is in excess of £500m per annum. You will be responsible for maximising annual passenger revenue and minimising crowding levels through the allocation of discounted fares on all East Coast trains.
This will involve managing the revenue management system inputs and outputs, monitoring train and market trend, monitoring competitor prices and identifying opportunities and threats to East Coast revenues.
Focussing mainly on the short-medium term you will review revenue management system recommendations and influence demand and/or fare availability levels where required whilst ensuring overcrowding remains at a minimum.
You will also take a proactive approach to planning for special events and monitoring future demand for dates beyond the 12 week booking horizon. You will strive to develop new ways to present information that enables better understanding of business performance.
This involves providing recommendations on Management Information to other areas of the business in order to inform decisions on supply requirements and promotional activity. A team player with proven analytical skills, good communication and presentation skills at all levels, you will work closely with other members of the Commercial team, Operations/Customer Services and Marketing teams

You will be an organised, analytical individual with an eye for detail and accuracy, with the ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
You will have excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel as you will be frequently required to manipulate complex spreadsheets and extract key information from large pools of data.
You will ideally be educated to degree level, preferably in a numerate discipline, and have some knowledge of Revenue Management principles. Experience in revenue management is preferred but not required.
